I am an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track Researcher) at the Computer Science Department of the Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI), in L'Aquila, Italy.

My research focuses on autonomous, collective, and self-adaptive systems, software engineering and software architecture, and the ethical aspects of autonomous and self-adaptive systems. I am particularly interested in engineering methods, architectures, and evaluation frameworks for smart, adaptive, and ethical-aware digital systems.

Before my current position, I was an Assistant Professor (fixed-term researcher type A) at GSSI from June 2020 to October 2024, and a postdoctoral researcher at GSSI from November 2018 to May 2020. Previously, I was a researcher in the "Distributed Adaptive Systems" (DAS) Research Unit at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) in Trento, Italy.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Doctoral School in Information and Communication Technology, University of Trento and Fondazione Bruno Kessler, in 2018. My thesis, Dynamic Adaptation of Service-Based Systems: a Design for Adaptation Framework, addressed modeling and execution of service-based systems through dynamic adaptation.

I received my master's degree in Computer Science from the University of L'Aquila in 2012. My master's thesis focused on modeling performance antipatterns in the architectural description language « Æmilia ». Before joining FBK in 2013, I worked as a software developer in private companies.

I am involved in several scientific and service activities. Since May 2026, I have served as GSSI Unit Representative for the CINI "Informatics and Society" Laboratory. I am also a Scientific Committee Member of the CIMA Research Foundation and an Associate Member of the Gran Sasso Tech Foundation.
